Wilbur Alexander Cole

  • Graduated in 1968 from Southside High School
  • Graduated in 1974 from Georgia Southern University with Degree in Recreation
  • Graduated in 1977 from the Police Academy and is currently a State Constable
  • Lettered in baseball, basketball, football and track at Southside
  • In 1968, ran on the 880 Relay Region Championship Track Team
  • Averaged 21 points per game in basketball as a Junior
  • Played on the 1966, 1967, & 1968 State Champion Baseball Teams
  • Played on the Timmonsville Legion Baseball Team that won the 1967 State Championship
  • After High School he signed a Professional Baseball Contract with the Philadelphia Phillies playing under Manager Dallas Green
  • In 1969, played on the Minor League Pulaski Phillies Team that won the Appalachian League Championship
  • In 1973, he served as the Asst. Recreation Director for Florence County
  • In 1976, he coached the Olanta Legion Baseball Team
  • In 1998, he coached the Hudgens Academy Baseball Team
  • Is a writer and Publisher of “A Future Seed”
