  • 1980 Graduate of South Florence High School
  • 1985 Graduate of Francis Marion University with a degree in Sociology
  • At SHS, he played basketball & baseball as a Sophomore, Junior and Senior
  • Named to the All-City Baseball team as a Junior and Senior
  • Played American Legion baseball where he pitched and led the team in hitting at .429
  • In 1980-1981, he played for Spartanburg Methodist College
  • He was drafted in 1981 in the 4th round by the Atlanta Braves
  • He transferred to FMU where he lettered in Baseball & Cross Country
  • He was the starting pitcher for FMU from 1983-1985 and staff ace
  • In the Summer of 1983, pitched for the Shenandoah Valley League
  • In 1984, he played with the Athletes in Action Summer Baseball team
  • After graduation he served 10 years in the Marines and was on the All Marine softball team in 1986
  • He is a Special Olympics volunteer
  • Served as President of the Deep Run High School Booster Club for 2011-2013
  • Little League Baseball coach from 2000-2009
  • Football Coach for the Tuckahoe Tomahawks 2012-2013
  • While serving in the Marines, he was selected for the Presidential Honor Guard & White House Honor Guard for President Bush and President Clinton
