  • Graduated from West Florence High School in 1974
  • Graduated from Lander College in Greenwood, S. C. in 1979 with a BS Degree in Physical Education & Recreation
  • Graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1991 with a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology
  • Played basketball at West Florence High School
  • Was the MVP of the Junior Varsity and named All Conference as a Sophomore
  • Led the Junior Varsity team in scoring and rebounding his sophomore year
  • Led team in scoring and was the team MVP, All Conference, All City, All State as a Senior
  • Was All South Honorable Mention his Senior year
  • Was selected to the North-South All Star Basketball game as a Senior
  • Played basketball at FMU as a Sophomore and at Lander as a Junior and Senior
  • At Francis Marion, he was the team MVP and led the team in scoring
  • As a Junior at Lander, he was the team’s “Defensive Player of the Year” and led the team in assists
  • As a Senior at Lander, he set the record for most assists in a season (229) and most assists in a single game (20)
  • Holds the Lander record for career assist average per game at 7.9
  • Was the team Co-Captain and Co-MVP as a Senior
  • Was First Team All District as a Senior
  • Was invited to play and was voted MVP of International Basketball Tournament in Holland in 1981
  • Creator of “Lose a Ton”, a community health and fitness event and winner of Nova 7, a National Award for Community Health and Fitness
