Air Force Academy
- In 1983, he was named the Head Coach of the Air Force Academy
- He served 23 years as the Head Coach with a record of 169 wins and 107 loses where
he had the most wins of any Head Coach in Military Academy history
- His 1985 team went 12 ‐ 1 with a victory in the Cotton Bowl vs Texas
- He received the Coaches Award, Writers Award and the Bobby Dodd Award in 1985
- He received the State Farm Coach of Distinction Award in 2001
