Nathaniel “Skebo” Oswell Turner, Jr.

- Was a four sport letterman in Baseball, Basketball, Football & Track
- Selected to the South Carolina 1969 Shrine Bowl Football Team
- Led the baseball team his Senior year with a .344 batting average where he
was the lead off hitter and played third base
- Played on three State Championship Baseball Teams at Southside in 1967, 1968
& 1969
- Played American Legion Baseball from 1966‐1968
- Signed a professional baseball contract with the Baltimore Orioles in 1970 after
being drafted in the second round
- Coached Youth baseball in 1981
- Served as a Dixie Youth Umpire and called in the 1966 World Series
- Won the Cecil Boone Memorial Golf Tournament in 2015
