- Lettered two years of varsity football
- Held the record for the longest intercepted pass for a touchdown at 99 yards
- Played in the first Tobacco Bowl held in Florence County in 1940
- Played in East‐West Football Game held in Columbia, S. C.
in 1941
- Appalachian State College
- Played strong side linebacker at Appalachian State from 1947‐1949
- Made All Conference Defensive team for 1949 season
- The 1948 team was undefeated as North State Conference Champion
- The 1949 team was North State Co‐Conference Champion
- Played against Catawba College in the 1948 Pythian Bowl in Salisbury,
N. C.
- Played Westchester Teachers College in the 1949 Burley Bowl in Johnson City,
Tennessee
- Coaching
- In 1950‐1966, he coached, taught and served as an administrator
in N. C. schools
- Community
- In 1966‐1982, he taught and served as a school administrator at the
Military schools at Camp Lejuene in Jacksonville, N. C.
- Member of the Masonic order for 32 years
- Member of the American Legion Post #6046 in Morehead City, N.
C.
- Helped organize and a member of the International Lions Club in Sneads Ferry,
N. C.
- Member of the National Organization of L.S.M's. and LSMR
