1947 graduate of Florence High School.

Lukie was born in Florence on May 2, 1928.

• Played in the High School Tobacco Bowl as an Eighth Grader in High School in 1944
• Represented South Carolina in the Shrine Bowl where he was voted the Most Valuable Player in 1946
• Attended the University of Georgia on a football scholarship & played for Coach Wally Butts
• Played in four major bowls while playing at the University of Georgia
• Drafted by the NFL Chicago Bears
• Asst. Coach with football at McClenaghan High School
