Robert “Ears” Earnest Wilson
- Graduated from Lenior (NC) High School in 1938
- Graduated from Presbyterian College in 1948 with B. A. Degree in Education

- Following high school he was recruited to Presbyterian College for football and
played two years
- Military Service
- Served in the Military 1941‐1945
- Career
- Played Professional Football with the Charlotte Clippers from 1945‐1947
- Returned to Presbyterian to complete his degree while playing football
professionally for the Charlotte Clippers 1947‐1948
- In one game with the Clippers, he intercepted a pass for a touchdown,
kicked a field goal, kicked 3 extra points and scored a safety
- Began coaching career at Clover High School in 1953 and served as A.D.
- Head Football Coach and A.D. at Chester High School from
1954‐1964
- Won the football State Championship in 1963 at Chester
- Head Football coach and A.D. at Southside from 1965‐1974 and
moved to South Florence when new school opened 1975‐1976
- In 1955 he coached in the North South Game
- In 1969 he was the Head Coach of the South Carolina team in the Shrine Bowl
- In 1996 he was inducted into the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association
(SCACA) Hall of Fame
